About PocketPal Kids

PocketPal Kids began in 2026 with a simple parenting challenge: helping our children understand how effort, money, choices and time are connected. Our twins were ten at the time.

We wanted to do more than talk about money. We wanted to give our children a safe way to practise: complete tasks, earn rewards, save money and choose their own goals.

Some things work. Some rules settle in straight away; others have to be changed or dropped altogether. Sometimes the children happily save for several weeks. Sometimes a new wish wins over the old goal. That is a normal part of learning, and we will write honestly about what did not work as well as what did.

Our family experience helps us find the questions parents really ask, but we do not treat it as scientific evidence. On the PocketPal Kids blog, we examine research and official data, check the sources and explain their limitations. One successful example from our family is never presented as a universal answer.

On the PocketPal Kids blog, we share what we learn and translate research about children and money into everyday family decisions: what to talk about, what to calculate and which rule might be worth trying at home.

PocketPal began as a personal family project. We now share it with anyone who wants to help children handle money calmly, thoughtfully and independently.
